The Gordon is a mock-Tudor pub at 88 Gordon Avenue in Thorpe St Andrew, and CAMRA rates its interior as of special national historic interest. It is a one-star entry on the national inventory of historic pub interiors. It was built by Bullards in 1934, reportedly using reclaimed doors and windows from the old City Hall, and the three original rooms survive behind openings cut in the 1970s, along with a decorative floral plaster frieze running round the walls and the original gents' and ladies' doors. It is a single bar split into three areas, one with a pool table, with a large beer garden at the back, parking, free wifi and sport on BT. Three cask ales are usually on, one regular and two changing. Punch Pubs owns the freehold. CAMRA's surveyed times, updated in June 2026, are 1pm to 10.30pm Monday to Thursday, 1pm to 11.30pm Friday, noon to 11.30pm Saturday and noon to 10.30pm Sunday, which differ from the older map survey shown in the sidebar. Food hygiene rated 5 out of 5 with a clean sweep on all three scores, inspected 23 December 2025. The 24A bus stops outside and the 14A is 100 metres away on Harvey Lane.
