The Hungry Otter is the coffee and snack hut at the top of the grassy hill at Salhouse Broad, near the moorings and the walk down to the water. It opened in 2019 and serves hot and cold drinks, ice creams and snacks to walkers, campers and boat crews, and it raises money for the Love the Broads charity. It is a seasonal, outdoor operation registered with Broadland District Council as a mobile caterer, so hours follow the weather and the season. Food hygiene rated 5 out of 5, the top score, at its April 2025 inspection.
